If you do, you will spend eternity separated from God in the place of eternal torment. "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and FIERY INDIGNATION, WHICH SHALL DEVOUR THE ADVERSARIES...Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?...It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." (Hebrews 10:26, 27, 29, 31). Hell is a place "where the worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched" (Mark 9:48). The gift of righteousness is given only to those who trust and rely on the merit of the Lord Jesus Christ and Him alone. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). My friend, you can do nothing to take away your sin. Come to the Lord Jesus! Call on Him for salvation. "God in heaven, I am a sinner in need of your forgiveness. I have disobeyed Your Law and have no righteousness of my own. I want to turn from my rebellion to You. I want You to give me the gift of the righteousness of Jesus the Messiah. I confess that He is the Lord who came down from heaven and was made in the likeness of man. I believe that He died for my disobedience and was buried and rose from the dead. Save me for Jesus' sake. I believe in Him and His perfect work on my behalf." When you become a believer God will give you a new nature that changes the way you think and how you choose to live. Where once there was hostility and indifference to the things of God, now there will be a hunger for righteousness and a desire to please God. |
