KTMB New Komuter Timetable 2026: What You Need to Know | Klang Valley Train Updates (2026)

Big news for Klang Valley commuters! Get ready for some changes as Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) rolls out a brand-new Komuter timetable, starting January 1, 2026. This is all thanks to the ongoing Klang Valley Double Track Phase II project, which promises to revolutionize your daily commute.

This new schedule impacts the Tanjung Malim-Pelabuhan Klang-Tanjung Malim and Pulau Sebang-Batu Caves-Pulau Sebang routes. KTMB says this adjustment is all about making your train journeys smoother and more reliable, thanks to the track upgrades. Imagine less jostling and more consistent service – sounds good, right?

The most significant change? KTMB is discontinuing the shuttle bus services that previously ran between Subang Jaya and Pelabuhan Klang, as well as at various intermediate stations.

During peak hours, trains will run every 30 minutes on the Pelabuhan Klang-Kuala Lumpur and Tanjung Malim-Kuala Lumpur lines. To cater to morning commuters, KTMB is also adding two new services from Tanjung Malim to Pelabuhan Klang and one service to Shah Alam. These will also include services via KL Sentral.

But here's where it gets a bit tricky: Maintenance and track closures will still occur daily from 11 AM to 3 PM, during which no passenger trains will operate on the Pelabuhan Klang-KL Sentral-Pelabuhan Klang route. So, plan your trips accordingly!

The Pulau Sebang-Batu Caves-Pulau Sebang route will also see 30-minute frequencies during peak morning and evening hours.

And this is the part most people miss... While the project progresses, train operations in the Pelabuhan Klang sector will continue to use a single track between Abdullah Hukum Station and Pelabuhan Klang Station. Full completion of the upgrading works is expected in 2029.

Want to get the full scoop? You can find the new timetable on the KITS STYLE application or KTMB's official website. For more details, check out KTMB's social media or call their Call Centre at 03-9779 1200.

Now, here's a thought-provoking question: Do you think these changes will truly improve your daily commute, or will the maintenance closures cause more inconvenience? Share your thoughts in the comments below!**
